Tile for Your Home

When it comes to home interior, tile choice is very important because each type of tile has its own pros and cons. With so many different types of tiles available, finding the perfect tile may seem overwhelming. In this article, we’ll provide you with basic information about different types of tile to help you make an informed decision.

Ceramic tiles

Ceramic tiles are made of healthy, natural clays; they are durable, stain- and scratch-resistant, and easy to clean. They are suitable for different applications, including flooring, wall décor, kitchen backsplashes, and more. These tiles come in hundreds of styles that can fit any design and are available in an amazing variety of colors and patterns. Black ceramic tile can add a sense of drama and timeless beauty to your space, and white tile offers endless decorating possibilities and can effectively blend into any décor. A ceramic tile is a perfect option if you want to renovate on a budget, but it can be used only indoors.

Porcelain tiles

Porcelain tiles are also made of clays, but they are baked at higher temperatures and are more durable and dense than ceramic tiles. That’s why they require less maintenance than ceramic and can be used in outdoor spaces as well as they will not fade, freeze, or crack. Due to the use of digital printing technologies, porcelain tiles can emulate the look of natural stone, wood, concrete, or fabric, without any of the maintenance. You can install them in the kitchen and bathroom, or anywhere moisture is likely and in high-traffic areas.

Glass tiles

Pearly and polished in appearance, glass tile is one of the most popular choices for bathrooms. Being stain-resistant, these tiles are a fantastic alternative to natural stone. They are also lightweight and easy to install although they cost slightly more than ceramic tiles. Glass tiles are available in a variety of vibrant colors and make an excellent choice for creating a glass backsplash or feature walls with a touch of glamor.

Natural stone tile

Natural stone tiles can be made from a variety of natural materials, including marble, granite, limestone, slate, travertine, and more. They offer a beautiful, organic look and a nice way to add some texture, but they need more maintenance.

Marble tiles are one of the most elegant and timeless options for floors and walls, and they are rather expensive. With irregular patterns and veining, they deliver texture and depth, but they require a lot of upkeep.

Limestone tile often contains fragments of relict shells and exudes calming warmth. They make a good choice if you want to achieve a truly rustic style in any space, especially outdoors.

Travertine tile comes in a variety of earth color tones that can add unique beauty to interior spaces and is cheaper than marble. They are durable but require periodic sealing.

Slate tiles have inherent durability and are resistant to cracks. If sealed properly, they are an excellent flooring material for kitchens and bathrooms that can last for decades.

Natural stone tiles make very luxurious looking floors. They are both expensive and unique and installing them, you can improve the resale value of your home.
